Winter guard utilizes the flags, rifles, sabers and dance traditionally associated with marching bands and drum corps and puts them in an indoor setting. This activity combines the beauty and pageantry of dance, the drama of theater, and the precision of marching band into one production. Pride participates in competitions with Winter Guard International (WGI).
In the winter guard arena, Pride strives to set standards within the color guard activity while maintaining a positive experience for the members and audience alike. From being one of the first color guards to use a floor covering, to exhilarating championship performances, members have always displayed the joy of performing and grown from the challenge of working as a team.
Currently, this color guard thrills and inspires audiences at local shows in the Tri-State Circuit for Pageantry Arts and MEPA. Pride of Cincinnati also participates in several WGI sponsored regional contests. These regional contests lead to the WGI World Championships, held in April every year.
