‘Greatest Moment in color guard history!’

Many fans have made the decision that Pride of Cincinnati 2010’s WGI Finals performance was the single ‘greatest moment in WGI history!’ While the fans can decide that for themselves, here are some comments written to Pride on their facebook or in emails.....enjoy!

“I wanted to drop you a quick note of congratulations.  Creating perhaps the greatest moment in color guard history is far bigger then any score or placement could ever indicate. Please give my regards to....the entire team on creating something that every person who was in UD arena will remember for a lifetime. I know I will.  All The Best,”

congrats on a spectaclular event! Thank you for doing that show! It was wonderful for you and the fab performers. AND it was also very good for WGI. Thank you

you changed the game tonight. . .

Pride showed what real entertainment and characterization can be, as well as showing that bending the rules and going against the norm is ok.

Thank you Pride for giving me the experience of a lifetime!!! I have never felt that kind of energy in the dayton arena. Thanks again

Thank you Pride for telling our story and making it relate to all ideas about war, love, caring for your fellow man and caring about each other. Thats what we tried to do in the 60's.... I was there! Your performance was trully amasing!!!!!!!!!!! You are the Pride of a lot of guard faithful.

“My kudos to the advisory/research committee for Pride this season. I finally got to see Pride's show at semis in Dayton. Usually when I watch something that is supposed to be from that era, there are several glaring "time glitches" which are obvious to an oldie like me who lived through that summer/time. Not so with Pride's Summer of Love. Such attention to detail in music, clothing, and attitudes. Nothing was out of place or missing - even got the 'hell no, we won't go' in there. My favorite guard show EVER. “

Pride was amazing. I loved them in all 3 of their WGI performances. I truly believed you guys pushed the boundaries this year, and that this show will go down in WGI history as one of the best and most memorable shows/performances ever. (and I wasn't even IN Dayton! This all came across even on the streaming video!)
There were so many components of the show that were unique to our activity - things that have never been done before, and it was all SO refreshing to see. I LOVED that you didn't have a tarp and that you used the entire UD Arena floor as your stage.
The performers were amazing. Uber talented, and incredible performers. They drew the crowd in like no other.
I think you guys did something new in that you created an atmosphere - not just a show. It was an amazing combination of watching live theater in our competitive art. So ground breaking and fresh.

You know I don't gush much about shows - I've been around way too long that I'm afraid I've become a bit cynical! ;) But, this old WGI Hag thanks you and your incredible staff and members for bringing your gift to our activity.
You certainly deserved the Fan's Favorite award (congrats for that) and in my opinion, should have won outright. I know that you and your staff have been around this activity long enough to know that placement is not what's important, though, and that you've passed that wisdom along to your students as well. You all inspired us this weekend. That's worth a lot more than winning.

It's been a long time since I've seen a show and thought, "I want to be in THAT show!". But, really - last night, I wanted to be in your show. You and your staff gave those members an opportunity and experience of a lifetime that they will always cherish.

Congratulations on a fantastic season.

saw Pride at prelims yesterday - and I have to say that that is the single best design for a show I have ever seen. "Organised chaos" is the only way I can explain it - but there is something so new and exciting about the design of the show - huge congrats!!!!!!!!!

I don't have everyone in Pride's email, but wanted to send you Hippies a kudos. The Pride organization really does something for performers. Confidence, inner-strengthening. I love to see each individual bringing forth their unique self and radiating that out into the arena and into each other. I hope you know that this is something long-lasting...A lifelong gift. You're building something here folks...see that the Sunshine is inside ourselves and radiate it out into the world. Our individual Sunshine, becomes the collective Sunshine realized. It's all about the Big Love. It's a Legacy. The hippies knew it then, and the hippies know it now. Love changes us. Love then changes the World. "Let the Sun Shine In...then Out"

Gratitude and bowing with respect to you all as an organization. In the Big Love,

A Berkeley-Born Hippie-1969...and a fan

I know you have no idea who this is but I just wanted to let you know what an amazing production you and the Pride family have created this year!!! A true honor to watch and enjoy. Those members got a "gift" to perform they will remember for a lifetime. Congratulations!!

I just wanted to send a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS on your season!! The kids were amazing and I know that you and the staff must be so proud! Once in a while a performance comes along that becomes a memory discussed forever........I'm glad i was there for this one!!!

I just wanted to let you know I had a chance to watch Pride on the live webcast. As a child of the 60s, I really loved it. Your interpretation of that era was right on the money.

I have seen some standing ovations in my time, but never have I seen the crowd reaction your kids got on saturday night. What a great show!

Just wanted to say "thank you" to you and everyone at Pride for reminding me what this activity can be and how much fun we can have doing it! I am so grateful that I was in the UD Arena on Saturday to witness that performance and to be part of the energy that was in the room during and after it. And I'm glad I could do that sitting in the stands as a fan...wow, what fun!!

Congratulations on a great year!

Let me just say, pure genius. LOVED the show and the performers and everything everything EVERYTHING! Fabulous job! It is preposterous that you didn't take the Gold... but you know, you took the Gold with the fans and I think that's just as good. Fantastic job! I'm a HUGE fan! That was seriously the best WGI performance I've ever seen. Ever.

Congratulation on the Pride of Cincinnati....spectacular performance and a ovation like I've never seen....I was smiling and singing along the entire time....thanks for your continuing contribution to entertainment...Love you!
