Pride of Cincinnati 2010 Audition Information
You will never know if you do not try!!!
Auditions for the 2010 Pride of Cincinnati will be held in September of 2009. More information will be available after the 2009 season. Auditions are usually held in Middletown

Registration
There is a non-refundable $40 audition fee that must be paid by
cash or check before you are allowed to participate in the audition
process.
What do I bring?
You will need to bring things for a 2 night stay at the armory, including
sleeping bag, pillow and shower needs.
***Pride will provide all meals during your stay at the armory.
Flags will be provided. You will need to bring a rifle and/or saber if you plan on auditioning for weapon spot.

What do I wear?
You will want to wear comfortable, form fitting clothing. We will
begin each day with movement sessions. You will need something that
allows you to have maximum flexibility and your feet and ankles
must be able to be seen. You will want comfortable shoes for the
rest of the day.
What will we do?
The two-day process will give you a true Pride experience. You will
be exposed to our movement and equipment technique principles and
you will meet the entire staff. You will learn an audition routine.
You will perform in small groups. You will have fun and meet new
people from across the country.
What do I work on for auditions?
Dance: - Plie in all positions , both sides - tendu, rond de jambe, arabesque, single and try double pirouettes.
Flag: drop spins, crazy 8/carving exercise, tossing singles and 1 1/2 on both hands.
Weapon (if auditioning):
Sabre - spins on both hands, a spins and stops or angle type exercise, flourishes exercise, hilt 3, 4,5,6 and try 7 - Blade tosses 3,4, 5 and try 6
Rifles - spins on both hands, a spins and stops or angle type exercise, flourishes exercise, tosses - 3, 4,5,6 and try 7
International Video Audition
Persons residing outside the United States may audition via videotape. VHS tapes should arrive at least two weeks before the audition camp date. A live audition may be required after that.
An international audition video should include the following:
Please make sure you are PERFORMING FULL OUT on the video tape, this is our only chance to see you shine.
In this video please introduce yourself, tell us a little about your past experience, and include movement/dance (technique and choreography), Flag (technique and choreography), and if you are planning on auditioning for weapon (rifle/ sabre/flag technique and choreography).
Your video does not have a time limit, just make sure you are performing FULL OUT and that you are demonstrating skills like spins, tosses (Up to a 6 or 7 on weapon, include 45 tosses on flag), choreography (with or without music) that will show yourability to move and spin at the same time.

Will we know that day who is in the
guard?
Most prospective members will learn their status on Saturday night. Several people may be "called back" for Sunday's rehearsal.
